CHILD INJURED.

ACCIDENT AT NGATEA.

LEG ALMOST SEVERED.

The three and ai-half-yca-r old son of Mr J. L. V. Reed, butcher, of Ngatea, was .severely injured on Saturday afternoon, having. his leg almost severed by the footboard of a motorcycle which feel on it. The cycle had been left leaning against a post in the County Council’s machinery depot, a,nd apparently the child had pulled it over on to himself. Hfe leg was severed a little above the ankle, the bone being cut right through, and the two end's wore forced through the flesh at the back. The shock was such that he did not faint or cry.

He was taken to a private hospita'-l in Thames and is progressing satisfactorily.
