ENTERTAINMENTS.
AURORA THEATRE PICTURES.
TO-NIGHT AND TO-MORROW NIGHT
SPARROWS.
“Sparrows,” which is to be screened to-night and to-morrow night, is full of the drollery that children l°ve, but nevertheless is a “grown-ups” entertainment, because the compassion it expresses for unfortunate children is of that profound type which adults feel more und-.rstandingly than children themselves. This picture is treated with that wide range of genius for which Mary Pickford is famous, and really the most exquisite product of her career.
WIRTHS’ NEW CIRCUS.
PAEROA—NEXT WEDNESDAY.
Christmasi comes but once a year—• anld so does Wirths’ Circus—;and like Christmas the circus, when it comes, brings good cheer. All will therefore be glad to learn that the famed combination will visit Paeroa on Wednesday, next, February 22, for one night only, the huge tented city being erected near the railway station. Though it m;ay soifnd extravagant to say so, .the big show is this year more crammed with wonders than ever before,
and is coming direct from Melbourne, where during the past two months a phenomenally successful season has been enjoyed. Melbourne people know a good thing when they come across it, and they promptly recognised in Worth’s Circus the best thing they had seen for many a long day. The greatest feature of all is Pallenberg’s wonderful performing bears, and the latest novelty tin hair racing, the public invited to bring their own dogs. There are so many astonishing acts figuring on the lengthy programme that it is difficult to' begin selecting one before another, for all are preeminent in their own particular ’lines. That is one of the secrets of success of this huge combination, which entertains the whole of Australia right the whole year through. There is ample variety on the pogramme to captivate everyone. Further, there sno interval to spin out time; every: 'thing goes like clockwork in order that the .25 star acts may be presented in scheduled time. The Zoo is open from 4 to 5.
