FIGURES FOR THIS DISTRICT.
From information received from the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Ca, Ltd., Hamilton, a clear is given of the . large increase in dairying production and advances. The figures supplied for the period from June to December, 1927, show an enormous increase over a similar period in 1926, and for the purpose of comparison the figures for 1926 are given in parentheses. The butter-fat received for butterVmairing was 6,530,4341 b (5,171,7381 b /and the total sum paid out in advance, - amounted to £419,272 8s 3d (£299,235 6s Id). The butter-fat received for cheesemaking was 606,063%1b (626,116%ib), and the total sum paid out in advance was £43,409 l’4s 3d (£38,029. 4s Id). The total butter-fat for both butter and cneese making has thus increased by 1,370,642%1b for the, period men- ' tioued, which resulted in an increase in advances of approximately £12,500. From the figures quoted the great increase in production on thi Hauraki Plains is most apparent. No doubt the lengthy dry spell .will affect the final comparison at the end of the seaspn, but in spite of this it is certain that this season’s total returns to I ■ suppliers in this district will be in- ex--5 cess of the amount distributed last season. s
