Mr W. E. Ward, postmaster at Paeroa, has received notification of his pending retirement after forty years’ service with the department. Mr Ward, who ceases duty at the end of this month, will take the z customary period of retiring leave allowed, and the retiring date from the department will take effect as from July 17, 1928.
