TRAGIC ENDINGS.

TWO UNLUCKY WEDDINGS. SAD CASES AT HAMILTON. After lingering for nearly twelve months in the Waikato Hospital with a fractured spine, Jtoland Hooten, ages 24, died last night (states Tuesday’s Waikato Times). His case was a sad one., and pathetic features are associated with it. He had just been married and was on his honeymoon, when a car driveji by his wife ran up a bank and he received severe injuries. Since then his, wife has been practically a daily visitor to the hospital, and patiently helped to beguile the weary hours. Tragedy descended, however, and his injuries ended fatally. Deceased was an engineer at Putaruru.

Equally sad circumstances are attached to another serious acident, as the outcome of which the death of Mr Sutherland Shaw, an elderly resident of Te Atatu, occurred at the Waikato Hospital at 9.30 o’clock last night. Deceased was a member of a party proceeding to Hamilton for a wedding last Tuesday afternoon, when the car burst, into flames near Te Kauwhata and was completely destroyed. All the occupants were injured and Mr Shaw, with Mrs Marshall, was admitted to hospital in a critical state. During the week his condition became lower, and he succumbed to shock and burns last night. It is distressing that he was the father of the bride, Miss Myrtle Shaw.
