FIRE AT NETHERTON.
RESIDENCE DESTROYED.
HEAVY LOSS SUSTAINED.
The residence of Mr Ernest Fisher, of Fisher’s Road, NetheTton, was completely destroyed by fire late yesterday afternooon.
The house, which was in the course of construction, was being lived in by Mr Fisher. It appears that before going to the. milking-shed he put on a good fire in the range and left some meat cooking, everything then appearing to be safe. Some time afterwards he happened to glance towards the house from the cowshed, and was dismayed to find the residence a mass of flames. The fire had too good a hold to permit of anything being done to save the structure, and it, with the contents, was totally destroyed. Although there is a small amount of insurance on the house Mr Fisher is a. heavy- loser. His loss is the greater by the fact that he was preparing a home preparatory to getting married at an early date..
