PEDIGREE BULLS.
SUCCESSFUL PAEROA SALE.
There was a yarding of over 50 pedigree bulls at the sale held in the Paeroa yards yesterday under the auspices of the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Club, and conducted by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency CoLimited.
Owing to the fact that the date clashed with a large pedigree sale at Hamilton, the number of buyers from outside was not. large. However, these was a good attendance of fanners from the surrounding district, and over half the] number of cattle>yarded changed hands, either under the hammer or privately following the sal®. A number of the bulls offered, although possessing undoubted stout pedigrees and butter-fat production backing were not, overburdened with condition, and as a consequepce did not look their best when paraded before the spectators'.
All things being considereid, the prices obtained represented values and a number of bargains resulted. The highest price paid was 25 guineas, which was for Mr G. Buchanan’s Kelvin Monte Carlo, Mr A. E. Simm, Paeroa, being the buj r er, and Mr A. Wiheeler Ngatea, paid a similar price for Mr B. E. Veale’s Orpheus.
