SCOUT BAND.

Sir,—Having been asked repeatedly why the Scout Band did not turn out last Saturday after it being mentioned in the columns of your paper, I wish to explain that, it was, through no fault of the band. At the last minute Netherton and Hikutaia schools were unable to play the cur-tain-raiser, so Paeroa A and B played in their stead, and as four of our solo players were in Paeroa B team, which hold an undefeated record this season, we had to cancel the engagement of the band in fairness to the team. DAVID A. VINCENT Scoutmaster.
