RINGING OF FIREBELL. UNUSUAL DEATH OF BOY. WANGANUI, August 30. The ringing of the firebell at Marton yesterday morning was responsible for the death of a boy, Edward Charles Richman, aged 10. He went to bed on Sunday evening in his usual health. When the. firebell rang the father heard the boy gasping, and, noticing his critical state, sent for Dr. Harpur, but in the interval the boydied.
A doctor certified that death had been due to heart failure, following on shock.
