HAURAKI DRAINAGE.

DISTRICT WARD SUB-DIVISIONS.

BOUNDARIES & REPRESENTATION.

After a great deal of discussion which has always been taken in eommitttee, or at special meetings, of which the Press was not notified, the Hauraki United Drainage Board has at last announced its decision concerning the boundaries) of the wards into which it has subdivided its district, and the representation.

There are four wards, called respectively Central North, Central South, Northern, and Southern, and each, with the- exception of the southern area, will have two representatives after the next election. The Central Northern area is enclosed by a line* running from the Piako River up the Shellbank drain and continued along the KopuarahiTurua road to Turua ; thence northward to the Piako outlet and eastward to the Waihou River. The line then follows the river to Huirau Point, thence the Huirau and (Orchard East roads to the Piako River at the Ngatea bridge, and down the Piako river to a point of commencement at the 'Shellbank drain.

The Central Southern area is bounded by the Orchard East and Huirau roads, the Waihou River, the Whare-poa-Kerepeehi road to the Piako River at Kerepeehi, and then down tiie river to Ngatea.

The other two subdivisions lie to the north and south, respectively, of the two central areas.
