KOPUARAHI. DEFEATS PAEROA.

LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH, x

On Saturday afternoon last the Kopuarahi Ladies’ Hockey team, run-ners-up in the Hauraki Plains championship, journeyed to'Paeroa and defeated the local ladies’ hockey team by 3 goals to nil. Owing to alterations to the ground at the domain, and also the fact that mud and slush abounded, the home team was at a positive loss in its new surroundings, but of course the adverse conditions applied to both sides, although to the local team, after being used to a level field, and one practically free of mud, these were undoubtedly telling features. In the first half Kopuarahi scored two goals, the scores being obtained by Miss Ednq.’ Candy. In the second half Paeroa rallied, and a good goal was netted by Miss L. Ellis. The visitors as a result of a., forward rush took the ball into the circle, and in a scramble Ethel Candy netted from the centre.
