FOOTBALL.

PAEROA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held on Monday night, the chairman (Mr C. T. Mettam) presiding over Messrs E. P. Fathers, J. Pinder, C. H. Potter, H. M. Shand, and R- Hodson (secretary). LODGE MATCHES. The Paeroa Oddfellows Lodge wrote asking for permission to arrange matches with the Cambridge and Tuakau lodges later in the season. Permission to arrange these games was granted subject to the dates not cla-hing with union fixtures. THIRD-GRADE PLAYERS. It was resolved that all third-grade players be officially weighed by Mr Shand before Saturday next. PLAYERS SUSPENDED. The referee in the junior match East versus Netherton at Paeroa on Saturday last (Mr E. Smith) reported the- conduct of four players whom he had ordered off the field. After hearing the evidence of L. Potter, J. Goonan and G. Morrow, the meeting went into committee. It was later resolved that L. Potter and G. Morrow be suspended for three months as from June 13, and that J. Goonan and W. Potter be suspended for two playing Saturdays. The behaviour of two players after the match was also reporte-d by Mr Smith, and the secretary was instructed to notify H. Moore (East) and E. Williams (Netherton) to appear before the union on Monday night next. As a witness H. Wright was also to be asked to attend. TEAM MANAGERS. Tlie chairman was appointed Manager of the senior team to play at Waihi on Saturday, and Mr Fathers was appointed manager of the junior team to piny at Paeroa. TRANSPORT. Sealed tenders were received from Messrs Brenan and Co., W. Fleming and Son, and R. W. Medhurst for three cars to transport players to Waihi on Saturday. As tlie tenderers each submitted the same quotation the mimes of tlie firms were placed in a hat and drawn, Messrs Fleming and Son being successful. It was decided that the senior team assemble at Fleming and Son’s on Saturday at 1.30 p.m. REGRADING OF PLAYER. The East club applied to have T. Lovatt regraded from senior to junior status. The secretary was instructed to advise the club that it was not the policy of the union to regrade players after the second round of the competitions was played, and therefore the application was refused. CADET MATCH. Permission was given for a cadet match to be played at Paeroa on Saturday next between the Paeroa and Waihi cadets. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. TEAMS FOR NEXT SATURDAY. Tlie first of the inter-union matches for the Frank Poland Memorial Cup (seniors) and Sharebrokers’ Cup (juniors) are to be played on Saturday next. The fixtures set down for decision are Poland Cup.—Hauraki Plains v. Piako, at Te Aroha ; Paeroa v. Waihi, at Waihi. Sharebrokers’ Cup.—Hauraki Plains v. Piako, at Ngatea ; Paeroa v.
