DRUIDIC INSTALLATION.

STAR OF PAEROA LODGE.

FRIENDLY SOCIETY FUNCTION

The bi-annual installation of the officers-elect of the Star of Paeroa Lodge, No. 18, U.A.0.D., took place on Monday evening. The Arch-Druid was greeted by a goodly muster of locql members and opened the Lodgein due order at 7.30 p.m. The preliminary routine business having been disposed of, the initiation of three new members was- carried out with the customary solemnity under the guidance of P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Brown, Master of Ceremonies. Tire ceremony was witnessed by a large number of visiting brethren from Waihi and Thames, who expressed their warm approbation of the work of the principal officers. At this juncture tlie company was joined by officers and brethren from Te Arolia Lodge, accompanied by District President Bro. F. Firkins, who forthwith proceeded to the installation of the officers-elect. Tlie work and bearing of tlie new D.P. deeply impressed all present. His clarity and terseness of speech caught the interest and attention of every brother, and it was felt that the interests of No. 10 district, U.A.0.D., N. 1., N.Z. were in safe hands.

The Lodge being duly closed, the brothers fell in to the festive boa.rd and spent a happy hour or so in tightening the bonds of fellowship, welcoming new brothers and honouring old brethren. A dainty -supper was served by a committee under the direction of Bro. Don. Wright. Bro. Geo. Brown entertained tlie company “on the air,” Bro. Andrew Hogg contributed songs in the- vernacular, whilst Bro. C. T. Mettam ably officiated at the piano. Everyone present did his part in cementing anew the very real brotherhood which existed in the Druidic Order.
