FOOTBALL.

PAEROA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The- weekly meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union executive was held on Monday night, the chairman (Mr C. T« Mettam) presiding over Messrs JM. Crosby, C. H. Potter. H. M. Shand, E. P. Fathers, J. Pinder, and R. Hodson (secretary). An apology for absence was tendered by Mr T. Royal,, who nad met with an accident. The meeting expressed its sympathy with Mr Royal in his misfortune. DRAW FOR THE SEASON* The draw for the senior and junior grades for the first games was read and approved. OUTSIDE MATCH. The application of the West club to play a match with a Waihi team at Waihi on Saturday next was approved. REGISTRATIONS. The following registrations wereapproved:— East Club: Seniors, G. Pullar; juniors, D. Salby. West Club: Juniors, Fulton and Hattaway. The registration of T. Dawson was held over for further particulars. Netherton Club : Juniors, A. Catlin, McAllister, J. Craig, A. Kelly. W. Potter was regraded from senior to junior status. CLEARANCES REFUSED. The Karangahake club wrote asking for the clearances of C. O’Brien. McLeod, J. Lee, and F. Robinson to play for Waikino. After a lengthy discussion it was decided that the request could not be entertained. DRESS OF PLAYERS. On the motion of Mr Pinder, seconded by the chairman, it was decided that after Saturday next no player be allowed to take the field unless he wore his correct club colours ; no exception to be made. HIKUTAIA GROUNDS. The secretary was instructed to write to the Suburbs club and request that the ground at Hikutaia be properly lined and flagged before Saturday next. GENERAL. Mr C. Rolton was elected junior representative selector. The secretary was authorised to complete the advertising contract with the “Gazette” Office, and also to arrange for the printing of referees’ report forms and complimentary tickets.

It was resolved to write to the Thames Union and ask for a representative match, to be played at Paeroa at an early date.
