WORK TO COMMENCE' AT ONCE.

A special meeting of the Paeroa District High School Committee was held during last we.ek, the chairman (Mr AV. T 1 Power) presiding over the following: Messrs J. W. Silcock, WSmith, R. J. Thorp, W. Purdie, W. N. Chamberlain, J. H. McDonald, and G. H. Taylor (headmaster). The chairman explained that the meeting had been called for the purpose of discussing ways and means of erecting a one-chair dental clinic. A programme was submitted, and it was resolved to proceed with tlie, building at once. With the grant of £l6O authorised by tlie Education Board it was considered that, provided tire householders backed up the efforts of the committee and assisted either with cash or kind, the members themselves would undertake the erection of the clinic in a series of working bees. It was resolved that the members undertake to make personal canvass of Paeroa for contributions towards the work.

After inspecting the site, it was decided to place the, building on the Wood Street corner of the new playing area and 10ft back from Nahum Street.

Now that a start is to be actually ■made with the. clinic, it is earnestly hoped that the. committee’s efforts will receive the hearty support of the public.
