GOLDFIELDS' STARS MATCH. MATAMATA RETAINS TROPHIES. The last challenge match of th*, season for the Goldfields Stars was played at Mataniata on Saturday, the home rink (holders) being called Upon to defend the trophies against Paeroa. The latter dub was the original holders of the season, securing the trophies at the annual tournament on Labour Day. On Saturday the visitors took the lead in the first four heads, but failed to go on with it, and Mataniata simply romped away to win by- 30—12. The rinks were :— Mataniata: Carter, Mclntyre, Oates, G. Stewart (skip). Paeroa : Chambelarin, Hale, Cane, Towers (skip). .
