NEXT SATURDAY’S PROGRAMME. tournament progress. On Saturday next at the Ngatea Club’s courts there will be an attractive programme of tennis? when the Haujaki Plains representatives will play the Franklin Association’s, team, and the finals of the championship and handicap tournaments will be decided.

The semi-finals of the competitions were played yesterday afternoon, and the representative team was then picked.

Details of yesterday’s games are as follows :— •

Men’s Handicap Singles (semifinals). —W. Murphy (owe 10) beat S'. Ccppins (owe 8), 70 —68 ; E. Coppins (owe 6) beat A. R. Vowles (owe 2), 701—59.

Ladies’ Handicap Singles (final).— Miss Clotworthy, Turua (owe 10), beat Miss Benny, Kaihere, (owe 2), 50—28.

Ladies’ Handicap Doubles (semifinal—Misses Duffy and Benny (owe 15) beat Mrs and Miss Clotworthy (owe 12), 50 —44. Ladies’ Championship Doubles (semi-final). —Misses Benny and Duffy beat Mrs and Miss Clotworthy, 6 —3, 9—7.

Tlie competition finals to be played on Saturday next will include the Men’s championship and handicap singles, the men’s handicap doubles, and the ladies’ championship and handicap doubles. REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. The team selected to play against Franklin and the matches they will play are as follows : — Men.—Singles, W. Murphy and S. Cappins. Doubles: Coppins and Coppins, Murphy and Averill, Robinson and O’Connor (Or McMillan).

Ladies. —Singles: Miss Duffy and Mi s Clotworthy. Doubles : Miss Duffy and Mrs Bird, Mrs Clotworthy and Airs Hudson,. Miss Benny and Miss M. Beaver. Combined Doubles : Averill and Mrs Bird, Robinson and Mrs Hudson O’Connor (or McMillan) and Miss Duffy, E. Coppins and Miss Beaver.
