TENNIS.
PAEROA V. MORRINSV'ILLE. WIN FOR LOCAL TEAM. The local tennis courts were well patronised on Saturday last on the occasion of an inter-club match between the Morrinsville and Paeroa Tennis Clubs. The courts were a bit heavy after tjlie previous day’s downpour, but not sufficiently so to pre- ■_ vent good tennis. The majority of the matches were’ closely contested, and there was not very much between the teams on the day’s play. The" lady members of the team mainlined their good reputation by winning nearly all their matches, and. could claim to be the champion lady team of the district. Owing to t,he failing light the match had to be drawn to a conclusion when half the combines had still to be played, the scores at the -close o't play being: Paeroa, 18 sets or 177 games ; Morrinsville, 11 sets or 134 games.
