POLICE COURT.
SITTING AT PAEROA.
BREACH OF ORDER.
A sitting of the local Police Court was held yesterday, Mr F. W. Platts, S.M., presiding.
Eli Mitchell, sharemilker, Wharcpoa, was charged with procuring liquor on February 18 while being a prohibited person. Accused, did not appear.
Constable McClinchy stated that on the date in question he had arrested accused in a state of drunkenness.
A conviction was entered, together witli a fine of £2 and costs 10s.
DISTURBANCE AT THEATRE,
A Paeroa youth was, charged with, causing a disturbance at the Gaiety Theatre on the night o’f February 26. He pleaded guilty.
Senior-Sergeant D. A- Maclean said that he would class the boy as one o’f the young hoodlums of Paeroa, and although only one of several, he was really the ring-leader.
The magistrate said that this conduct would not be tolerated, and if there were any further complaints asj to his behaviour he would be severely dealt with. Accused was convicted and fined 10s and costs 10s.
