QUARTERLY MEETING AT I’AEBOA.
STERLING LICENSE TRANSFERRED
The quarterly sitting of the Ohinemuri Licensing Committee was held at Paeroa yesterday, the chairman (Mr F. W. Platts, S.M ) presiding over tee following: Messrs W. .1. Towers, W. Marshall, P. E. Iht’ian, W. M. WaHnutt, and P. H. Wylde (secretary). An application fo>- the transfer ol the license of the Sterling Hotel from Mrs M. Stevens to M>- W. E’.lerington was made.
Mr 11.I 1 . D. McLivcr ajpei-.ed in sup-io-t of the applicatio.’, and stated that the customary notices had been posted and application entered, ?nd everything was in order. In reply to the committee SeniorSergeant D. A. Maclean said that the police would raise no objection. The application was granted. RETURN OF FEES SOUGHT. The application for a transfer of the license of the Paeroa Hotel (E. W. G. Smith) was withdrawn on the application v'f Mr E. J. Clendon. Mr Clendon sought a refund of fees, including stamp duty and £2 paid to the local Borough Council, on account of tiie withdrawal of the transfer. The chairman said he was afraid that the fees were beyond recall.
