One lady who sought coolness oy having a bathe in the Ashburton River in t ( he country during the heat of a recent afternooon has cause to remember her experience. After enjoying a gooff ‘dip” she returned to the secluded spot where she had discarded her clothes, only to find that some sneak-thief had removed them holus bolus. Fortunately she had a raincoat in the motor car, and with this over her bathing suit, she had to travel the eight miles into town.
