MOTOR-CYCLE STRIKES' LORRY.

Shortly after 7 o’clock yesterday morning a collision in Belmont Road occurred between a motor cycle and a motor lorry, fortunately without, serious consequences.

It'appears that a lorry, driven by an employee o'f Messrs. Smith and Spencer, cartage contractors was proceeding from William Street across Belmont Rooad towards the subway. A -m'tor cycle, ridden’ by Nicholas Lctica, ,was coming up Belmont Road from the direction of Taylor’s Avenue. Seeing the approach of the cyclist the lorry-driver pulled up across the street to enable him to pass safely, instead o'f which Letica continued on and struck the back wheel of the, lorry with, the front wheel of his machine. The force of the impact knocked the cyclist on”to the ground, and he sustained superficial cuts and bruises. The forks and mudguards of the motor cycle were also damaged.
