WIREMAN INJURED.
CONTACT WITH 100-VOLT LINE.
SEVERE BURNS ON HANDS.
An unenviable experience befell a Thames Valley Electric Power Board employee named C. J. Twigg yesterday morning.
Mr Twigg w<\s, engaged in altering a time-switch *lll the tower at the Criterion transformer, and having disconnected the leads, was in the act of pushing them to one -side when his hands came in contact with two phases o'f the 400-volt line. The result was that he received a severe shock and was thrown from the tower. Fortunately his assistant, R. Barakat, was working close by, and he promptly released Twigg from his perilous position. Although a fatal accident was avoided, the victim received a severe burning to the palm and fingers of the left hand, while his right hand was more or less seriously burned. Apparently the occurrence was purely accidental, and Mr Twigg is fortunate. in not having been more seriously injured.
