NETHERTON. LADIES’ GUILD. » A meeting of ladiesi was convened on Friday, January 14, at the residence of Mrs A. J. Young, “Longlands,” Netherton, for the purpose of (forming a ladies’ guild in connection with the Church of England. The object of the guild is to raise funds for the purpose of building a church at Netherton. Having obtained and paid for a suitable site it was thought by the ladies, that there is no time, like the present to make a start towards the building fund. The meeting was very successful, a large number of ladies attending. Already 20 ladies have joined, having paid 2s 6d as a fee, to, be paid annually. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as 'follows : President, Mrs A. J. Young; vice-president, Mr s W. Matthews ; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs J. Wakeham. The meetings are to be held once a fortnight. At present the members are working hard for their sale ofl; work, which is to take place in February in the Netherton Hall. within seven years of January, 1920.
