PAEROA FIRE BRIGADE.

■ ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The, annual general meeting of the Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade was held in the social room at the fire station last night, the superintendent (Captain W. Moore) presiding over a full attendance of members, In stating that- the brigade had been formed on lOctobei - 22, 1895, Captain Moore said that it was. customary to hold an annual meeting for purpose of electing officials. The finances of c; e tTigt.de were now ably controlled by the Fire Council, and there was little e; 1 for the brigade to do, so far as administration was concerned. The following officers, were elected for the ensuing twelve months : — Superintendent, Captain W. Moore ; deputy, Lieutenant E. Moore ; foreman, H. Wilton ; secretary, D) iver C. W. Malcolm. Eulogistic references were accorded the retiring' secretary, Fireman Eugene Shaw, who has ably filled the position for the last ten years. It was decided to record the brigades.’ hearty thanks and appreciation of the services rendered by Fireman Shaw. ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT. Arrangements, for the holding of the annual smoke concert on November 27 were left in the hands of a, special sub-committee.
