COMMITTEE MEETING AT PAEROA. ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHOW. A meeting of the management committee of the Hauraki Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held at Mr Bain’s Rooms on Friday evening, the president (Mr H. J. Ha ; re) presiding over an attendance of twelve members. PRIZE FUND. A number of letters were received from firms at Auckland offering to donate cash or trophies to the prize fund. The president remarked that a very fine response had been made by the Auckland people. Credit was due to the secretary for the work he had done in compiling and mailing appeals for assistance. The response, so far as Auckland was concerned, exceeded the number of donations for previous years. Mr A. J. Andrews also spoke eulogistically of the work done by Mr Edwards. THE PATCH CUP. The secretary reported that Mrs Erson (nee Kelso) had offered to donate a cup to the assocWton as a token of her appreciation of the good treatment and hospitality that she had received while an exhibitor at the show. At her request the cup was to be known as the “Patch” cup, 'for competition by the champion hunter, and to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. A donation of a handsome cup was also made by Messrs C. H. Drysdale and Co., Auckland, and Messrs; Hetherington’s, Ltd., Thames, offered us a special prize a pair of binoculars valued at £5 ss. It was decided to record the association’s thanks and appreciation to the donors and that the allocation, of the trophiejs. be left in the hands of the president and secretary. RESIGNATIONS. The resignations of Messrs E. E. Gillman, A- Hazelton, and Birdsall wtie accepted with ' caret. USE OF MATERIAL. On the motion of Mr E. L. Shaw the Paeroa Athletic Club was granted the use of the material used in the erection of the show-ring. Permission was also' granted the club to display on both days of the show a calico 1 sign relating to the club’s sports. CHARGE FOR ADMISSION. It was resolved that the charges for admission on the first day be one shilling and on People’s Day one shilling and sixpence, children under 14 years, of age to be admitted free. WORKING BEE. It was decided that working bees be held at the domain on Saturday, November 20 and 27, commencing at 9.30 am.. The president made a special appeal for assistance and co-Operation, eind stressed the fact that there was a lot of work to be done, aiid it was unfair to leave it to the willing few each year.
