DISTRICT NEWS.

NGATEA. JASPER CALDER’S CONCERT. The fame of the Re.v. Jasper Calder’s party of entertainers and the fact that “Jasper's, Ltd.,” was to> give a concert in the Ngatea Hall on Tuesday last had evidently 'spread far and wide, tor long before the show was timed to commence the building was full, there being pedple, present from, as far away as Patetonga and Orongo. Led by the inimitable ‘.‘Jasper,” the company of five ladies and three other gentlemen presented an entertainment of unlimited enjoyment, and from the breezy opening chorus to the final number there was not a dull moment. Every item was enthusiastically encored. One of the best items’ was the characterisation of Dickens’ “Scrooge” by the Rev. Cajder. As a result of thq entertainment “Jasper’s” fund for the assistance of the unemployed of Auckland will probably benefit to the extent of about £3O.
