VETERINARY CLUB.

MEETING OF PLAINS BODY. ABSENCE OF SURGEON. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Farmers,’ Veterinary Club was held at Ngatea on Thursday afternoon, Mr G. T. Davidson presiding over Messis J. Darlington, G. Phillips, A. Cleaver, .and C. A. Gibson, secretary. ILLNESS OF SURGEON. A medical certificate was received from an Auckland doctor stating that the surgeon was suffering from gas,tric trouble of a serious nature. About four to six weeks’ leave of absence was necessary. On the motion of the phairman this leave of absence was granted, and the sympathy of members and the hope that he would speedily recover wore conveyed to Mr Costello. The chairmran stated that Mrs. Costello was prepared to continue with the dispensing. She was capable and willing to do a great amount of work. Owing to the financial state of the club it was not possible toi secure the services of a locum tenens, but he was willing to give members in need of urgent assistance what help he could. He was very busy, but would do what he could to keep the club together, and with the assistance of other members was hopeful that the difficulty would be overcome. FINANCE. A letter was received from a member in regard to an overdue account. He had promised to p.ay his subscription out Of his bonus, but had not done so. Members urged taking extreme action, but on the wish o'f the majority this was postponed in the meantime. The secrertary reported that the outstanding subscriptions now! only amounted to £3O. It. was decided to make efforts to collect this. sum. x SURGEON’S CAR.

The secretary was instructed to have the legal agreement between the: club and the surgeon in regard to the motor-car drawn up. MEMBERSHIP.

Seven farmers were admitted as members.
