A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. ARRANGEMENTS FOR DECEMBER. A meeting of the general committee of the Hauraki A. and P. Association was held at Bain’s Roohis on Monday evening, the president, Mr H. J. Hare, presiding over an attendance of ten members. DONATION RECEIVED. The N.Z. Insurance Co., Ltd., wrote advising that instead of giving a cup for competition at the forthcoming show it would donate a, cash prize of £1 Is to be awarded for the best cow on the field at the showoutside the pedigree classes. It was resolved to write and thank the company for the donation. ASSISTANCE REFUSED. In reply to the committee, the N.Z. Herd Testing Association, Hamilton, wrote advising that this year it had adopted three herd test classes at the Waikato show, but as all the prizes were being collected from outside firms the association regretted that it was unable to make any donation. The matter was referred to Mr W. F. Johnstone to take up with the association. ROYAL SHOW MEMBERSHIP. The Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand wrote stating that its council was desirous of augmenting the membership of the society in the Auckland province at a fee of £1 Is. Each member would receive one of the society’s badges, two, ladies) tickets, and a free luncheon ticket, and if an exhibitor would have to pay only half the usual entry fee for stock. It. was resolved to apply for six tickets, the secretary to use every endeavour to sell them. ANNUAL MEETING. It was resolved that in future the books of the association be closed on March 31, and that the annual meeting be held on May 31. CANVASSERS APPOINTED. Canvassers were appointed as follows : Thames, Messr.s ( A. J. Andrews, W. J. Hall, and the secretary; PaerJa, the president and secretary; Waihi, the president and Mr J. W. Silcock; Netherton, Messrs Andrews and J. A. Reid. DECORATED BICYCLES. It was. decided to .make provision for two classes for decorated bicycles for girls and boys under the age of 17 years. GENERAL. A number of judges for the various classes were selected from the official list, and it .was decided to write .and ask them to judge at Paeroa. It w'as resolved that the baby show be held on the second clay, as formerly. The president and secretary were authorised to endeavour to secure .two guarantors to relieve Messrs W. F. Johnstone and G. Buchanan. Revision of the show schedule was referred to a special committee.
