MISHAP ON FOOTBALL FIELD.

ANKLE FRACTURED IN PLAY.

During the progress of the Paeroa v. Thames primary schools Rugby football match at Thames on Saturday afternoon Allan Pivott, son of Mr F. Pivott, Paeroa was accidentally injured. It appears that during tight play Pivott received an accidental knock or kick on his left gioJn. As he was in considerable pain Pivott was removed to the Thames Hospital. An X-ray examination of the injury has been made, and the patient is> being kept under ob'ervatiotn. On Saturday afternoon while playing in a paddock near his home Max Charlesworth, son of Mr W. J- Charlesworth, oCronation Street, Paeroia, injured his right ankle. It was not until Sunday night that) the boy complained, and as the night wore on the pain inerea,sed. A doctor was s-um-mohied, and he ordered the removal of the lad to the Thames Hospital. After an X-ray examination it was found that {I bone in the leg had been fractured, and an operation was performed on Monday night. The patient is nokv progressing satisfactorily.
