BREAKING AND ENTERING
TWO PAEROA YOUTHS CHARGED.
ACCUSED REMANDED.
The recent burglaries which have taken place at Paeroa had their sequel at the local Police Court yesterday morning.
Two Paeroa. youths, aged 19 years and 17 years respectively, appeared before Messrs W. Marshall and B. Gwilliam, J’s.P., charged with the offences. The younger accused was charged with on September 18, burglariously -entering the shop of Messrs Brocket and S'hand and stealing 12 packets and two tins of cigarettes, two door keys, and £1 in pennies; also with entering and the theft of £4 10s from the sfhop of Miss- L. S. Marshall; a-nd a third charge of theft of a story book from the shop of Mr F. C. Blyth. The elder youth was charged with breaking, entering, and theft from the shop of Messrs Biocket and Shand’s. In applying for a remand Constable McClinchy said that there were further charges, pending, and owing these the police- were not in a position to go on with the cases at present. If bail was granted, the constable asked that it be subrlantial. A remand was granted until Tuesday, September 28, bail being allowed in two sureties of £5O each.
