Colonel H. R. Pottel’, N.Z.S.C., of Auckland, w ( as in Paeroa on defence business yesterday.
Mr R. W. Evans, clerk to the Ohinemuri County Council, who has been ill during the last three, weeks, h<s recovered sufficiently to? leave his? bed but is still confined to his home.
The Rev. J. A. Ryburh, moderator of the Presbyterian Chur'ch, was farewelled at Te Aroha oh Tuesday evening prior to, his departure, for Eltham. The Rev. J. Lowden, of Paeroa, who has been appointed moderator for the Church till the vacancy has been filled, presided. The Rev. Ryburn was the recipient of a gold watch a,nd chain, and Mrs Rylmrn was presented with a gold watch. The other members of the family were each presented with a useful gift.
