PROGRESS REPORT FOR JULY.
In the course of his report df work ■accomplished during last month the chief engineer (Mr N. G. McLeod) stated at yesterday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board that in the Paeroa district the 11,000volt line had be.en extended 45 chains, on Mahutu Rciad and the> transformer shifted, to a ne.w position to give a better supply. The report continued :
“P.W.D, Dredge.—A new tappingpoint has been made available near Death’s- corner on the Netherton road. The structure and apparatus from Laughlin’s has been dismantled and re-erected at the new position.
“Mapkaytowh.—On the* main 11,000volt p.oles 34 chains of low tension have been erected, together with a transformer structure. A 10'k.v.a, transformer has bee.n installed and supply given o'n July 29 to those consumers whose installations were ready. Poles have been distributed on the remaining section; “Thames Road.—The low tension has been extended from Hubbard’s Road transformer, a dista.nce of nine chains, to supply further load. It was found necessary to replace, a pole at the corner of Hubbard’s Road on account of rot. This pole was included in the schedule submitted in April of this year. “Willoughby Street. —A short low tension extension has be,en made on this road to supply additional consumers.”
