Miss J. Goodfellow, of the local telephone exchange staff, has received notice of transfer on promotion to Rotorua. Miss! A. F, Thompson, frjta the Rotorua office, is to replace Mis.s Goodfellow at Paeroa.
The death occurred at his residence at Waihi yesterday of Mr David Leach, aged 86. An old resident of Waihi, deceased 'recently celebrated his golden wedding, when Mrsl Leach, six sons, and a. daughter were present. Up till a few days a.go he was in his usual state ctf health, but wasthen suddenly stricken with influenza. Mr Le,ach was the father df Mr D. Leach, of Paeroa.
