KUREPKETFr. HOCKEY CLUB’S BALL. One of the. largest crowds that ever assembled to at the Kerepeehi Hall was present last Thursday evening at a fancy dress ball organised in aid of the 'funds, of the Ladies’ Hockey Club. Dancers were present from all parts, of the Plains, and they should not have been disappointed, for the function wa,s. Well organised and well conducted. The music, by Pickford’s Paeroa Players, was all that could be desired, and the hall was effectively decorated with native foliage and strings df different coloured paper streamers. and toy balloons. Ma,ny novelty dances were introduced, and Mr J. Neate made an efficient M,C. The prizes, for the best fancy costumes were awarded to Miss B. Thompson (Oriental.) and Mr G. Boswell (Devil), while the prizes for the most original costumes weht to Mr and Mrs Hoff (Father Time and Bouquet). Others in fancy costume included: Mesdames A. McMillan, Jester ; Hands, Egyptian ; O’Loughlin, Rose, of KillaJ’ney; Mclntosh, Ant; Callander, Powder Puff; Kneebone, Bath Robe; W. Kidd, Question; C. Hudson, Answer; Cooper, Art Student ; la Mont, Hula. Misses Dixon,. Art Student; Beaver, Pierrette; E. Thompson, Fan ; M, Courtenay, Pierrette ; P. Frecklington, Lightning; Beaver, Pierrette; S, Nicholson, Art Student. Messrs S, Nicholson, Toreador ; A, Nicholson, Greek; W, Thompson Swiss Peasant.
