ENTERTAINMENTS.

SOCIAL AND DANCE. GAIETY THEATRE. TO-NIGHT. The annual social apd dance promoted by the West Football Club is to be held at the Gaiety Theatre tonight. Handsome prizes are to be presented to the winners of the euchre tournament, which is to be held in conjunction with the dance. Pickford’s' Paeroa orchestra has been engaged to provide the music for dancing, and with the special attention that the floor of the theatre is receiving dance patrons should spend an enjoyable night. The decorations are on the lavish scale, and a. strong committee of local ladies has the suoper arrangements in hand, PAEROA’S BRASS BAND* ALWAYS WILLING FOR SERVICE'. At all times and places the Paeroa Salvation Army Band has willingly rendered its musical services gratis. It has played off the troops to war, led the Peace and Anzac Day celebrations, cheered the sick : and at a,ll times its music wafts throughout the precincts of Paeroa a message of gladness and cheer. A number of the leading citizens monthly support the band by a regular subscription, and the bandsmen themselves pay 'regularly into their b&nd fund, receiving nothing whatever in the way of remuneration for their services a,t any time. Music and new instruments require money, and now the band is asking the public for its hearty support in a special effort to raise funds to maintain Paeroa’s only band which has stood the test of time. On Tuesday, 29th inst., in the Gaiety Theatre, a grand musical festiva.l will be given. Waihi Band and Songster Brigade, Te Aroha Band and .talent, Paeroa Band and local .talent, will render an excellent progra.mme, preceded by a massed baud procession. Tickets a,re being sold at on© shilling.
