DRUIDISM.
CEREMONY AT TURUA. PAEROA AND THAMES TAKE PART What is believed to be the first Druidic ceremony on the Hauraki Plains was held at Turua on Saturday night. Members numbering 25 from the Star of Paeroa Lodge, and a isimilar number ! from the Thames lodge were present. The object of the visit to Turua by the combined lodges was for tire purpose of carrying out an initiation ceremony, in. the course of which 12 persons were initiated as members- The proceedings were carried out under the jurisdiction of the Thames, lodge. Bros. H'A. Lloyd, H. A. Lewis (Thames) and J. T. Brown (Paeroa), pasit district presidents, assisted with, the service. At the conclusion of the service the visitors were hospitably entertained, and a\ pleasant hour was, spent in song and. story, and the customary toasts were honoured. . It fe hoped that in the near future sufficient brethren will; be enrolled to enable a charter to be applied for, and a new lodge /formed at Turua. Meanwhile, the neyvfly initialled brethren have been attached to the Thames, lodges.
