TO-DAY’S POLL.

COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTION. POWER BOARD LOAN PROPOSAL. The triennial elections of county councillors are being held to-day. So far as the Paeroa riding is concerned, .the polling booth for which is a,t the County Chambers, .three candidates have offered thomsjelves for the two seats. Messrs W. F. Johnstone and F. C. Hubbard, the sitting members; are being opposed by Mr T. P. Vuglar. A poll is also being taken by the Thames Valley Electric Power Board asking the ratepayers to sanction a further loa,n of £150,000 ’for the purpose of extension of reticulation in the district. Messrs H. M. Corbett (Waitekauri) and W. Marshall (Paeroa) are the candidates for the seat as-' Ohinemuri County representative on the Power Board rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr P. Grace. Locally there is not a, great deal o'f interest being taken in the polls,. The polling booths close at 6 p.m. -
