TURUA TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The regular meeting of the Turua Town Board was lield on Wednesday evening, Mr J. Mules presiding over the following : Messrs S. G. Williams, J. H. Johnston, C. Scott, J. McConnell, J. T. Da,vies, and J. E. Green (clerk). SUBSIDY ON RATES. The Valuation Department forwarded a voucher for £4O 16s lid, being i-iubsidy on rates collected for the year 1924-25. PARTICULARS OF BITUMEN. In reply to, the board’s, letter the Auckland city engineer wrote advising that it was, not possible to let the board have three barrels of bitumen, as desired, for resurfacing the township roada. Particulars of the bra.nds used in Auckland were supplied. It wa.s decided to procure one barrel of mcxaphelt for use .as an experiment in patching. COMPLETION OF LOAN. The county engineer forwarded duplicate specifications tor th§ balance of the board’s, 'road loanl expenditure. The work comprised the. grading, metalling, blinding with red gravel an,d rolling of 47 chains of Ra,ratun;i Street and Oparia Road, and'bitumen-sealing A.wa Street. Representatives of the N.Z. Roads,, Co. attended the meeting .and discussed prices, for doing the work. The offer e.f the N.Z. Roads Co. to resurface ten chains of Hauraki Road 'from the Turua. Buildings to the factory was accepted. TURUA BERTHAGE. The Thames Harbour Board's letter advising that ite chairman, secretary, ancl engineer had been appointed a committee to confer with. 4 the chairman of the town board with reference te. the latter’s protest against the closing of the berthage at Turua, to metal punts caine before the board and was, received.
