The annual contest for the Sanfleie Cup has just been concluded on Otago Harbour.' This event, which is confined to a series. of races between fourteen footers, is now regarded as the classical, contest for sailing, boats in New Zealand waters. Increasing interest is shown each summer, and the event/, is rightly regarded as “the sail of the season. The euphony of this last phrase brings the mind back to the more ‘ necessary things of everyday life. No one should .forget that “The Sale of the Season” those aTtieles of attire and utility that are at present being offered at tempting sale prices at “The Kash.” A sale of good goods .at gift prices cannot be continued indefinitely.
