NIGHT MATCH WITH HIKUTAIA.

STARS GAME TO-MORROW.

A most enjoyable Inter-club maten with Hikutaia was played on t)he loca.l, rinks last night. Despite the heavy rain that, fell during the late .afternoon the green was in surprisingly good playing condition, although a trifle on the heavy side. The match was a four-rink one, 21 heads being played. At the conclusion of the garnets- the visitors were entertained to supper in the pavilion, during the course of which Mr W. Forrest, on behalf of the local club, warmly welcomed the visitors, and congratulated them on ,the close fight they had put up. ,He admitted that the locfil team was lucky in winning the match by .the narrow 1 margin of two points.

Mr A. R. Robinson responded on behalf of the visitors, and atj his. invitation it was a.greed to pl.ay a return match at Hikutaia .next Wednes•day evening.

To-mbrrow afternoon a team from Te Aroha will play the present holders for the Goldfields, on the local green. The teams are : — Paeroa. —McCullay, Power, Hamilton, Purdie (skip). Te Aroha. —Hedge, Tony, Heathcote, Peterson (skip). To-morrow week the local club will play an inter-club match with Thames, at Thames.
