BALANCE-SHEET TAGGED.
THAMES VALLEY POWER BOARD. AUDIT DEPARTMENT’S COMMENTS At a meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board hold at Te Aroha yesterday a letter was received, from the Audit Department returning the balance-sheet for the year ended March 31, 1925, duly certified to as being correct subject to the exception “that an adjustment is necessary between the power fund and loan fund accounts in respect of .the cost of maintenance materials, and other revenue account items acquired through the loan.”
The chairman (Mr F. H. Claxton) said that the adjustment mentioned would have no effect on the result of the balance-sheet. The past financial year had shown a credit balance of £400; and this was, particularly gratifying, seeing that this| was considered to be the board’pi critical year. The balance from the trading account was £6333. The bo.ard Ehquld be in a position to carry on without striking a rate. The figures of the first nine 'months of the present financial year were highly satisfactory, and if the following three months, continued on a similar basis a particularly good year should result.
