TURUA. TENNIS. The club formmed this season at Huirau Road, Turua, played its first match on Saturday, meeting a “C” grade team from Turua Club. Following are the scores, Turua players being mentioned first: — Men’s Singles,—F. Clotworthy lost to W. Madgwick, 2 — l ; A. McConnell beat R. Madgwick, 7 —4 ; E. Jengen beat A- Charterfe, 7 —2 ;H. Aberhart beat W. White, 7—2.
Men’s Doubles. —F. Clotworthy and A. McConnell lost to W. and R. Madgwick, 4 —7 ; Jensen and Aberhart lost to Charteris and White, 6—7 ; Olsen and Griffiths beat T. White and Baker, 7—2.
Ladies’ Singles —Miss Charteris. lost to Miss H. Spencer, 5—7 ; Miss Stephens beat Miss J. Madgwick, 7—4. Ladies' Doubles. —Misses Charteris and Stephens beat Misses Madgwick and' Spender, 7 —5 ; Missies Charteris and Stephens beat Misses Spencer and Baker, 7—l. Combined Doublets'.—Ols,en and Miss Charteris beat T. White and Miss Spencer, 7—l; Griffiths and Miss Stephens beat Baker and Misjs R. Baker, 7—2. Totals: Turua, 9 sets, 80 games; Huirau Road, 4 sets, 51 games.
