PAEROA FIRE BRIGADE.
TEAM TO GO TO DUNEDIN.
MEMBERS IN HARD TRAINING.
For some weeks past members of the Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade have been training assiduously for the competitions that are being arranged in connection with the South Seas Exhibition at Dunedin towards - .the end of next month. The team selected to represent the local brigade is, Lieut. E. Moore, Firemen E. Ma,rtin, C. Rolton, H. Robinson, and Captain W. Moore, who .will attend the United Fire Brigades’ annual conference as delegate from the local brigade.
The .team will take part hi the oneman, two-men, and three-men events, and also the four-men' reel event. Altogether, it is expected that there will be about 700 men, representing flt'e brigades throughout the Dominion, taking pa,rt at the tournament. Even if the local men do not succeed in gaining honours hi the events entered for the experience gained will be invaluable, and the association with fellow-firemen will, no doubt broaden their outlook and afford them much pleasure. ■Apart from free railway passes granted by the United Fire Brigades’ Association -the local members are paying their own expenses to Dunedin. This speaks volumes for their enthusiasm and zeal, and it is, safe to assume that the earnest good wishes of the townspeople will accompany the members.
