BUTTER-FAT PAY-OUT.
GOOD PRICES PREVAIL. LAST’YEAR’S FIGURES PASSED. To-day, being the 20th of the month, is always regarded as a red-letter day in the town and district, because it its on the 20th of each month that the dairy farmer receives his cheque. Any prosperity enjoyed by the farmer is shared by tlie tradespeople, and, generally, the result of good prices for dairying produce reflects in the welfare and prosperity of our town& Yesterday and to-day hundreds of cheques have been posted to farmers in all parts; of the district by the Paeroa office stajf of the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd. In conversation with Mr Lloyd, acting secretary of the local office of the company, yesterday morning, the good news was obtained that the advance payment made for butter-fat supplied for the month ending December 20 is in advance of the price paid for the corresponding period in 1924. The total gross payment ma,de from the local office yesterday was £76,0'22 7s lid for butter-making, and £11,976 16s 4d for cheese;. These amounts represent a cash advance payment ot Is 3d per lb for butter and Is 'sd for cheeoe, as compared with Is 2%d for butter and Is 2%d for cheese for December, 1924. At the Paeroa, Ngatea, and Wajhou factories the amount of butter manufactured during last month was 669 tons 12cwt. This make represents ah increase of 33% tons over that of the, corresponding period in 1924.
