NGATEA. THE SCHOOL. The Nga,tea District High Schoo* Committee met on Monday evening, Mr W. McDuff presiding It was agreed that the vacancy on the committee caused by tlie departure from the district of Mrsi J. N. Anderson be not filled in view of the nearness, of the annual meeting. It w'as decided to chip and cover with sand a square chain of the playground for the younger children. The Auckland Education Board advised having made urgent application to the Education Department for a grant for the temporary erection of a building to provide additional, accommodation at the s,chooK The committee would be informed as soon as li, reply was received. STOCK SALES, Very little business has been done at the recent stock sales conducted on the Plains, which is due to the apathy of the freezing works, buyers. .With little demand from .that quarter the prices have been low and! not an indication of stable values.
