PLAY AT PAEROA. L . < ' : BOXING DAY RESULTS. Perfect weather prevailed 1 locally during the holidays, and members .of - ■the Paeroa Bowling Club were able to enjoy themselves to .the utmost- The green was in exceptionally good playing condition, the hot sun being? par- . , ticularly conducive to ‘'drawing.* 1 ’ A few of the more enthusiastic spent the greater part of Christmas 6ay on tlie green, but owing to a ‘■‘Christ- - masy” feeling and the heat the competition was not completed. On Boxing Day a progressive pairs* . tournament was played, five rinks, taking part in the competition. The . trophy provided for the leads was- Won outright, by J. Brocket, through .the competition without, a loss./ In the skips' division P. Wil,liams and L>. Gibb tied for first place with four wins each, but in the playoff Williams won by a comfortable margin.- 1 „• Owing to the tournaments, being held at Hamilton and Te Aroha no ’ fixtures have been arranged on the '? local green for New Year.'- The local,.”! club will be represented by three rinks at the z Te Aroha tournament,. . which commences on New Year’s Day, the respective skips beiiig-W. J. Towers, F. Marsh, and W. Hamilton.
