NUATKA. HALL AFFAIRS. Tlie Ngatea Public* Hall Committee met on Wednesday evening, Mr G. T. Davidson presiding. Four applications Were received lor the position of secretary, and Mr S. J’arver was applointed. Four tenders were received fbr the right to sell sweets and drinkp, etc., In the hall committee’s stall. They ranged from 8s to Ils. 6d, per week. The highest tender was accepted. In response to the committee’s inquiry an Auckland firm , submitted samples and prices for a. stage curtain. ’ The prices ranged from £l3 10s to £35 Is 6d, according to the material. TENNIS CLUB. - The Ngatea Tennis Club at ite meeting on Wednesday last appointed Mr C. Bertels,en president, vice Mr J- N. Anderson, resigned on account of leaving the district. Mr and Mrs Anderson were made life members, MrW. Wylde was appointed delegate to the Haurakl Plains Tennis Association in M;r Anderson’s, place, and Mr J. E. Reid and Mr A. Douglas yere appointed trustees. The terms of the agreement between ,the trustees, who will act ‘until the chib bcomes an incorporated society, and Mr T. A. McClean, who is providing the land and financing .the courts, were submitted and approved.. Under the agreement the club will liquidate its debt by annual instalments. of £6o>, which will include interest and sinking fund. It was decided that the radius outside which players could be enrolled as, visiting members be four miles, and. that the fee for such visiting members be half the ordinary member’s fee, which this, year was 30s and iiss?a/ j : bji/f IJj/OfililJflll
