RIFLE SHOOTING.
REGIMENTAL DISTRICT MEETING. LOCAL, TRAINEES TAKE PART. The No. 2 Regimental District rifle meeting. Was commenced at the riflerange at Paeroa on (October 24, and was concluded on Saturday. . - On October 24 the local senior cadets 1 fired . .their course, and the shooting throughout the competition was of a very high standard. In addition to obtaining the highest net score Cadet G. L. Wells won. the trophy presented by Lieut. R. B. Pen; > .lington for the best shot in the cadet., company. Staff Sergt-Major Busby’s trophy for the best ■shot' among the ■ pastings was won by Cadet G. G. Hughes with a net'score of 66. Ideal weather conditions prevailed on Saturday' afternoon, when the No. 4 platoon (territorials) fired their competition. Although the shooting of tlie men was not of such a high standard as that of the cadets the.. results are considered quite satisfactory. The following were the prize-win-ners :— ■ ' Cadets.—G. L.
