POLITICAL MEETINGS.
POLITICAL ADDRESSES. Mr Hugh Poland, M.P., will address the electors in the Gaiety Theatre tonight (Monday) and at Hikutaia on Wednesday night, both meetings to commence at 8 o’clock. Mr A.'A. Rossi, the official candidate of the Country Party, will address the electors as Ngatea to-night at 8 o’clock and at Orongo to-morrow night at 8 o’clock. Mr T. W. Rhodes, M.P., will speak at Waitakaruru this evening at 8 O’clock.
The largest political meeting yet held in the Nethcrton Hall took place on Wednesday last, when Mr Samuel opened his campaign there. Included in the audience were a number of ladies. Mr Samuel received an enthusiastic hearing and answered a number of questions. At the conclusion of the address a hearty vote of thanks to the candidate and confidence in Mr Coate’s administration was passed on the motioji Of Mr G. Death, seconded by Mr W. Matthews. A strong committee was formed to work in the interest of securing the candidate’s election to Parliament.
